A noisy showroom has been transformed into a far more comfortable and customer-friendly environment after BMG Nelson installed Mammoth® acoustic insulation to tackle excessive rain noise inside the building. Store Manager Oscar said the issue had become a major challenge for staff and customers, particularly during periods of heavy rain on the building’s tin roof.
Before the upgrade, the showroom only had foil and builder’s paper installed beneath the iron roofing, offering virtually no acoustic protection. “On a heavy rainy day, you couldn’t talk on the phone, you couldn’t hear anyone calling you, and it was almost impossible to have a conversation with customers,” Oscar explained. The constant noise affected both the warehouse and workshop areas, creating a frustrating working environment for the entire team.
To solve the problem, Paul from Absolute Energy recommended Mammoth Acoustic 70mm polyester insulation. The insulation segments were cut and fitted between the roof purlins and secured using synthetic strapping, creating an effective acoustic barrier to significantly reduce the impact noise from rain hitting the roof. The installation process was completed quickly, with customers surprised by how much progress had been made in just one day.
Since the upgrade, the difference has been immediate and dramatic. Oscar says the quieter environment has completely changed the way the team works and serves customers in-store. The Mammoth acoustic insulation solution has not only improved day-to-day comfort for staff, but has also created a more welcoming and professional experience for everyone visiting the Nelson BMG showroom.
