Ceiling Insulation Blanket

Mammoth 100% polyester insulation blanket to reduce heat transfer through ceilings.

Mammoth Modern Insulation™ Ceiling Blanket is an effective and easy form of thermal insulation. It is long lasting, non-irritant and highly effective.

Mammoth ceiling blanket is made from polyester just like duvets and similarly traps the warmth underneath the blanket to keep your home warmer. Polyester is a safe insulation material free from the chemicals and itchy fibres typical of traditional ceiling insulation. It won't sag or settle over time.

Ask us what insulation subsidies or finance options there are for ceiling and underfloor insulation for your existing home.

Also available are Mammoth Skillion Ceiling Sections for new ceilings without a roof space.

Mammoth Modern Insulation™ Ceiling Blankets are designed to be installed in new or existing ceiling cavities and have a range of R-Values up to R4.0.

Made from 100% thermally bonded polyester fibres Mammoth polyester insulation is Red List Free and in blanket format can roll over joists or go between the framing to reduce thermal bridging. It is a long lasting material that won't sag or settle over time. Also available are Mammoth Skillion Ceiling Sections.

  • All Mammoth™ products are Red List Free - International Living Future Institute.

  • Mammoth insulation products manufactured from 100% polyester have an Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) of zero, meaning no ozone depleting substances are present in the product or used in direct manufacture of the product.

R-Value is a measure of thermal efficiency - is measures the thermal resistance of the material. The higher the R-Value the better.

Minimum R-Values are specified for ceilings in the building code.

The New Zealand Building Code specifies minimum R-Values for ceiling insulation in different geographic regions of New Zealand.

The Central Plateau & All of the South Island Minimum R-Value = 3.6

All other regions R-Value = 2.9

Yes you can. Mammoth ceiling insulation is very easy to work with as it is non-irritant and is designed to roll out over joists.

We encourage you to read the Installation Guidelines for Ceiling Blanket carefully since all insulation must be carefully placed around fire hazards like downlights and chimneys.

You can purchase Mammoth ceiling insulation from most building merchants although, due to its bulk, they may not all have it in stock - we suggest you ring ahead for pricing and they can order in your specific requirements.

Ceiling insulation sections are designed to be placed between joists which can allow for heat to be lost in the gaps - this is thermal bridging. In contrast ceiling insulation blanket rolls out over the joists to prevent thermal bridging.

All Mammoth insulation products are heat bonded and contain no glues or other materials that may break down over time.

And if you ever need to remove Mammoth insulation, our products are 100% recyclable.
