Mammoth Insulation manufactured by a carboNZero certified organisation

InsulPro has proudly been awarded the World’s first insulation manufactuer to be carboNZero certified.

We feel it is important to consider the environment in all facets of our business and so measuring and monitoring our impact, is the only way to understand how we can improve.  Our measured carbon emissions will be off-set, monitored and continually reduced through a variety of smarter business practices.
We can also boast that all our Mammoth polyester insulation products are Red List Free.

Red List Free

The Living Building Challenge™ developed a Red-List of prohibited materials under the Declare programme, to provide transparency around building products.  Declare is a 'nutrition label' for the international building industry and is a voluntary self-disclosure programme aiming for healthier and more ecological products in construction.

Red List Free products are shown to be free from Declare’s red list ingredients.  Click here to learn more

We worked alongside one of our environmentally conscious customers to construct Tuhoe Headquarters in Whakatane – NZ’s most environmentally and socially sustainable building – built in accordance with the stringent Living Building Challenge’s guidelines.

Environmental Choice

Environmental Choice is the official environmental labelling programme. This programme, which commenced in 1992, operates independently from the government but the label is government owned and endorsed. Since 1992, the government has financially supported the scheme, both directly and indirectly.

The following Mammoth products have Environmental Choice certification:

  • R2.5 Wall sections
  • R2.6 Wall  - 140mm Cavity

From Waste to Warmth

We take fibre made from plastic bottles, which would otherwise be waste, and manufacture the fibre from the bottles into polyester insulation that creates warmer, healthier homes and buildings.

The Mammoth thermal and acoustic insulation range is made from 100% polyester fibre.  Polyester is made from a substance called PET, which is what plastic bottles are made from. Another benefit is that PET can easily be recycled.  Plastic bottles made from PET can be washed and ground up into flakes, heated and then extruded into polyester fibre. This is how the recycled fibre used by InsulPro is made.

InsulPro has worked with recycled polyester fibre for over a decade and is committed to using the maximum possible in all products.  Along with using recycled fibres, our product is recyclable, this means all of our waste is able to be fed back through the manufacturing process. Polyester, PET, is the same material that plastic bottles are made from.

Chemical Free

All Mammoth products are safe and easy to work with.  They will not cause irritation when touched and are chemical free – no pesticides, insecticides and formaldehyde.  All our polyester insulation products are thermally bonded which means there are no glues or bonding agents.

New Zealand Green Building Council

Homestar and Greenstar is New Zealand's environmental and energy efficiency rating for both new and existing homes.  It's a voluntary rating system developed by BRANZ and the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC).

The Homestar rating scale goes from 1 (very poor) through to 10 (world class).  Points are awarded in nine credit categories, with the most important category being Energy, Health and Comfort.  High levels of insulation (ie: above the minimum Building Code requirements) using products such as Mammoth, will help homes achieve higher Homestar ratings.  All Mammoth products with Environmental Choice certification contribute to Homestar and Greenstar accreditation.
